Our Story & Inspiration
Every great institution has a story, and ours begins with Late Sh. Professor Nihal Singh (M.A., M.Ed.), the visionary behind Guru Teg Bahadur College of Education.
Professor Nihal Singh spent more than six decades shaping young minds and building strong educational foundations. His teaching journey took him to Government Degree College Udhampur, Women’s College Gandhi Nagar Jammu, and Government B.Ed. College Jammu, where he served with dedication until retiring in 1994. Even after retirement, he continued contributing to education, becoming Principal of Dogra B.Ed. College.
He established Guru Teg Bahadur College of Education in 2005, as usual, with his energy and passion. College began in 20072008 and has been expanding since with the idea that education should be accessible, meaningful and transformative as he believes.
In all that we do, to this day, we celebrate his values discipline, innovation, and a deep concern with teaching.

Our B.Ed. Program
